This tender slow cooker honey garlic pork tenderloin is a melt-in-your-mouth dish with a sticky-sweet garlic glaze, perfect for effortless yet special dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 1.5 pounds pork tenderloin (450 to 680 grams)
  • 1/4 cup honey (85 grams)
  • 45 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (80 ml), low-sodium preferred
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar (30 ml)
  • 1/2 cup water or chicken broth (120 ml)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or vegetable oil (30 ml)
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Green onions or sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Trim and pat dry the pork tenderloin, removing any silver skin or excess fat.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, water or chicken broth, and optional red pepper flakes. Set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the pork tenderloin on all sides until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  4. Transfer the browned pork tenderloin to the slow cooker. Pour the honey garlic sauce over the pork, coating evenly.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 5 hours, or until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) and is tender.
  6. Remove the pork and tent with foil to rest. Pour the sauce from the slow cooker into a small saucepan and simmer over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until thickened to a glaze consistency.
  7. Slice the pork into 1/2-inch thick pieces and drizzle with the thickened honey garlic glaze. Garnish with chopped green onions or toasted sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

Brown the pork before slow cooking to lock in juices and add caramelized flavor. Use a meat thermometer to ensure pork reaches 145°F for perfect tenderness. Keep the slow cooker lid closed during cooking to maintain heat. Adjust sauce thickness by simmering longer or adding water/broth. Rest pork after cooking to redistribute juices.
