These crescent rolls shaped like witch hats are a fun and festive treat perfect for Halloween parties. Easy to make and endlessly customizable, they’re sure to delight kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package crescent roll dough
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Black olives, sliced
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • Optional fillings: cream cheese, pepperoni slices, Nutella

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles. If needed, lightly roll each triangle to make it slightly larger.
  3. Fold the wide edge of each triangle inward to create the brim of the hat. Twist the pointed end slightly to make a whimsical hat tip.
  4. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese (or your chosen filling) along the brim of the hat. Fold the brim over the filling to seal it in.
  5. Place a slice of black olive across the brim to resemble a ribbon.
  6. Use a pastry brush to lightly coat each witch hat with egg wash for a golden finish.
  7. Place the witch hats on your prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
  8. Let the witch hats cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t overfill the crescent dough to avoid tearing or leaking. Twisting the tip of the hat adds character, but be gentle to avoid tearing the dough. You can make these ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to bake.
