A creepy and delicious Halloween treat made with Rice Krispies and marshmallows, shaped to look like brains. Perfect for parties and family fun!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • Pink gel food coloring
  • Red gel food coloring (optional)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the miniature marshmallows and stir continuously until fully melted and smooth. This should take about 5 minutes.
  2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and add a few drops of pink gel food coloring. Stir until the color is evenly distributed. Add more food coloring if needed to achieve your desired shade of pink.
  3. Pour the Rice Krispies cereal into a large mixing bowl. Carefully pour the melted marshmallow mixture over the cereal and stir until completely coated.
  4. Lightly grease your hands with cooking spray or put on plastic gloves. Scoop out portions of the mixture and shape them into oval brain-like shapes. Place each ‘brain’ on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  5. For extra spooky effects, use a toothpick to create lines and grooves in the ‘brains’ to mimic the texture of real brain matter. Optional: Add red gel food coloring or icing for a ‘bloody’ look.
  6. Let the Rice Krispies brains cool for about 15 minutes to set before serving.

Notes

Grease your hands with cooking spray to prevent sticking while shaping the brains. Use a toothpick to add grooves for a realistic look. Experiment with food coloring for different spooky effects.
