These Spicy Cheeseburger Dip Cups combine juicy ground beef, creamy cheese, and a spicy kick in a fun, handheld dip cup perfect for game day or parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 preferred)
  • About 24 mini phyllo or wonton cups
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 12 jalapeño peppers, finely chopped (seeds removed to reduce heat if desired)
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley or chives, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and break it up with a spoon. Once it starts browning, add diced onion, minced garlic, and chopped jalapeños. Cook for 5-7 minutes until beef is browned and onions are translucent. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes until fragrant and slightly thickened. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  4. In a mixing bowl, beat together softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese until smooth and creamy.
  5. Place mini phyllo or wonton cups on a baking sheet. Spoon a small amount of the cheese mixture into the bottom of each cup, then add a generous layer of the seasoned ground beef on top. Optionally sprinkle extra cheddar or chopped parsley/chives.
  6. Bake in the oven for 10-12 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly and cups are golden and crispy. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes and serve warm.

Notes

Use softened cream cheese for smooth mixing; microwave for 10 seconds if needed. Drain excess fat but leave a teaspoon for moisture. Watch oven closely to prevent burning phyllo cups. For more heat, add hot sauce before serving. Can substitute ground turkey or chicken for leaner option or use sautéed mushrooms and black beans for vegetarian version. Gluten-free options include gluten-free wonton wrappers or tortilla chips shaped into cups.
