  • 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups (360ml) warm water
  • ½ cup (50g) grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine 3 cups (360g) of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of instant yeast, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Stir to combine.
  2. Gradually pour in 1 ½ cups (360ml) of warm water. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Mix in ½ cup (50g) of grated parmesan cheese and 2 tablespoons of minced garlic. Ensure they’re evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  4. Cover the bowl with a kitchen towel and let the dough rise at room temperature for 1-2 hours, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Heat your oven to 450°F (232°C) and place your Dutch oven inside to preheat for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
  7. Carefully place the dough into the preheated Dutch oven. Brush the top with olive oil and sprinkle a little extra parmesan for a golden crust. Cover with the lid and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the crust is deeply golden.
  8. Let the bread cool on a wire rack for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
