These Super Bowl Cuban sandwich sliders are bite-sized, packed with flavor, and perfect for game day. They feature toasted buttery bread, smoky ham, roast pork, Swiss cheese, and tangy pickles for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 slider rolls (Hawaiian or classic slider buns)
  • 12 ounces thinly sliced cooked roast pork (leftover pork shoulder or deli-style)
  • 12 ounces thinly sliced smoked ham (good-quality deli ham)
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese
  • 12 dill pickles, sliced lengthwise
  • 12 teaspoons Dijon mustard
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted softened butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large cast iron skillet or griddle over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix 4 tablespoons softened unsalted butter with 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder.
  3. Slice the slider rolls horizontally into halves, keeping them intact like little books.
  4. Spread about 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard evenly on the bottom halves of each slider roll.
  5. Layer each slider with 1 ounce roast pork, 1 ounce ham, a slice of Swiss cheese, and a few pickle slices.
  6. Place the top halves of the buns on each sandwich.
  7. Brush the outside of both the top and bottom buns generously with the garlic butter mixture.
  8. Place sliders seam-side down on the hot skillet and press firmly with a grill press or heavy pan.
  9. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden and crispy.
  10. Flip each slider, press down again, and cook for another 3-4 minutes until cheese melts and bread is toasted on both sides.
  11. Check for doneness: cheese should be melted and gooey, bread crispy and buttery, meats warmed through.
  12. Remove sliders from skillet, let rest for a minute, then serve warm.

Notes

If sliders brown too fast before cheese melts, lower heat and cover skillet briefly to trap heat. Assemble sliders ahead and keep covered on a baking sheet to toast in batches. For gluten-free, use gluten-free slider buns. For dairy-free, use plant-based cheese. Avoid overfilling to prevent sogginess. Use softened butter mixed with garlic powder for best crust flavor.
