Rich, fudgy chocolate brownies with a vibrant raspberry swirl, perfect for parties or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen raspberries, thawed if frozen, mashed lightly with a fork
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then whisk until the mixture is glossy.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
  4. In a small bowl, mash the raspberries with a fork. Stir in the powdered sugar until combined.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Dollop spoonfuls of the raspberry mixture on top, then use a toothpick or skewer to create swirls.
  6. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper overhang. Slice into squares once cooled.

Notes

[‘Don’t overmix the batter to avoid dense brownies.’, ‘Use fresh raspberries for brighter flavor and better texture.’, ‘Take brownies out of the oven when slightly underdone for a fudgy texture.’, ‘Swirl the raspberry mixture lightly to maintain a distinct design.’]
