A quick and simple recipe combining tender garlic butter steak with sweet bell peppers, perfect for busy weeknights or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lbs sirloin or ribeye steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 large bell peppers, any color, sliced thinly
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the steak into thin strips against the grain and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak strips and cook for about 3 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet and lower the heat to medium. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add sliced bell peppers to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender but slightly crunchy.
  5. Return the steak to the skillet and stir everything together. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt, coating the steak and peppers evenly.
  6. Sprinkle red pepper flakes if desired, taste, and adjust seasoning as needed.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving, if desired.

Notes

[‘Don’t overcrowd the pan; cook the steak in batches if needed.’, ‘Let the steak sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before cooking for even searing.’, ‘Adjust heat if garlic starts to brown too quickly to avoid bitterness.’, ‘Cook peppers just enough to soften while keeping their vibrant color and slight crunch.’, ‘Allow the steak to rest for a minute after cooking to retain juices.’]
