These sweet and salty snack jars combine crunchy pretzels, smooth caramel, rich peanut butter, and whipped cream for a quick, festive, and crowd-pleasing treat perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (50 g) mini pretzels or pretzel sticks
  • 1/2 cup (125 g) creamy natural peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon (12 g) sugar
  • Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark), about 1 tablespoon (15 g) per layer
  • Chopped nuts (toasted pecans or almonds), for topping
  • Sea salt flakes, a pinch for topping
  • Optional mix-ins: mini marshmallows, dried cranberries, chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the whipped cream: In a chilled mixing bowl, whip 1 cup (240 ml) of heavy cream with 1 tablespoon (12 g) of sugar until soft peaks form. Keep chilled while assembling.
  2. Mix the peanut butter and caramel: In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup (125 g) peanut butter with 1/4 cup (60 ml) caramel sauce. Stir until smooth and slightly runny; microwave 10 seconds if too thick.
  3. Crush the pretzels: Place 1 cup (50 g) pretzels in a plastic bag and gently crush, leaving some pieces chunky.
  4. Layer the jars: Start with 2 tablespoons (15 g) crushed pretzels at the bottom, add 2 tablespoons (30 g) peanut butter-caramel mixture, then sprinkle 1 tablespoon (15 g) chocolate chips. Repeat layers until jar is nearly full, leaving space for whipped cream.
  5. Add whipped cream: Top each jar with about 2 tablespoons (30 g) whipped cream. Sprinkle chopped nuts and sea salt flakes on top. Optionally add mini marshmallows or dried cranberries.
  6. Chill before serving: Refrigerate jars for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld and caramel set slightly. Serve cold.

Notes

If caramel sauce is too runny, cool before mixing with peanut butter to avoid dripping. Whip cream to soft peaks for best texture. Toast nuts lightly for extra flavor. Assemble jars close to serving time to keep pretzels crunchy. Store leftovers refrigerated up to 3 days; pretzels may soften over time.
