Ingredients

  • Greek yogurt (32 oz / 900 g, full-fat or non-fat)
  • Plain or vanilla-flavored yogurt (optional)
  • Cottage cheese (optional)
  • Strawberries, hulled and sliced (1 cup / 150 g)
  • Blueberries (1 cup / 150 g)
  • Kiwi, peeled and chopped (2 medium)
  • Banana, sliced (2 medium, ripe)
  • Pomegranate seeds (½ cup / 75 g)
  • Granola (2 cups / 200 g, nutty, low-sugar recommended)
  • Chopped almonds or walnuts (½ cup / 60 g)
  • Toasted coconut flakes (½ cup / 30 g)
  • Chia seeds or flaxseeds (2 tbsp / 20 g, optional)
  • Honey or maple syrup (¼ cup / 60 ml)
  • Dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs (¼ cup / 40 g)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Yogurt Base (10 minutes): Scoop Greek yogurt and any additional yogurt varieties into large serving bowls. If using cottage cheese, place it in a separate bowl. Keep the yogurt chilled until serving.
  2. Wash and Prep Fruits (15 minutes): Rinse all fresh fruits thoroughly under cool water. Hull and slice strawberries, chop kiwis, slice bananas, and prepare pomegranate seeds. Arrange fruits in individual bowls or platters for easy access.
  3. Prepare Crunchy Toppings (5 minutes): Chop nuts roughly if needed. Lightly toast coconut flakes in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently until golden and fragrant. Let cool before serving.
  4. Set Up the Bar (10 minutes): Arrange yogurt bases, fruits, crunchy toppings, and sweeteners on a central table or counter. Use small bowls or ramekins for toppings to keep things tidy. Label each item if desired.
  5. Guide Your Guests (During Brunch): Encourage friends to build their own bowls, mixing and matching ingredients as they please. Share favorite combinations or suggest a few “chef’s picks” to inspire creativity.

Notes

Use full-fat Greek yogurt for creaminess or non-fat for a lighter option. For dairy-free, substitute with coconut or almond milk yogurt. Toast nuts and coconut flakes carefully to avoid burning. Prepare toppings ahead but keep chilled and separate until serving. Slice bananas last or toss with lemon juice to prevent browning. Avoid overloading bowls to maintain balance of flavors.
