Ingredients

Scale
  • Wonton wrappers
  • 1 cup (225g) softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup (150g) cooked shredded chicken
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) soy sauce
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons (10g) chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) sriracha or chili sauce (optional)
  • 1 beaten egg
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, cooked shredded chicken, soy sauce, minced garlic, chopped green onions, and sriracha (if using). Mix until well combined.
  2. Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface and keep a small bowl of water nearby.
  3. Place about 1 teaspoon of the filling in the center of each wrapper.
  4. Brush the edges of the wrapper with beaten egg and fold into your desired shape.
  5. Pour about 2 inches (5cm) of vegetable oil into a deep pan or wok and heat to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully place the wontons into the hot oil, a few at a time, and fry for 2-3 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the wontons using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  8. Serve with dipping sauces like sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or creamy sriracha mayo.
