A quick and easy recipe for perfectly caramelized mushrooms infused with rich garlic butter flavor. Ideal as a side dish or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound (450g) button or cremini mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons (60g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for brightness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp paper towel or rinsing them briefly. Trim off any tough stems if needed.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir until evenly mixed.
  4. Add the mushrooms to the bowl and toss them until they’re fully coated with the garlic butter mixture.
  5. Spread the mushrooms evenly on a baking sheet in a single layer. Avoid crowding them to ensure proper roasting.
  6. Roast in the oven for 20-25 minutes, stirring halfway through. The mushrooms should be golden brown and tender when done.
  7. Remove from the oven and finish with a squeeze of lemon juice and a sprinkle of fresh parsley, if desired.
  8. Serve immediately while warm and aromatic.

Notes

Ensure mushrooms are spread out in a single layer to avoid steaming. For extra flavor, add balsamic vinegar or grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
