A quick and easy refreshing summer drink combining the tartness of lemons, sweetness of fresh strawberries, and a cool hint of mint. Perfect for backyard barbecues, picnics, or solo chill sessions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 4 large lemons (juice and zest)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1215 fresh mint leaves
  • 5 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes for serving

Instructions

  1. Rinse, hull, and slice about 2 cups of fresh strawberries. Blend in a blender or food processor until smooth but slightly textured, about 30 seconds. Optional: strain through a fine mesh strainer for seed-free puree.
  2. Roll 4 large lemons on the counter, cut in half, and juice to yield about 1 cup lemon juice. Zest one lemon and add about 1 teaspoon zest to the juice.
  3. Place 12-15 fresh mint leaves in the bottom of a pitcher. Gently muddle with a muddler or wooden spoon to release aroma without shredding.
  4. Add strawberry puree, lemon juice, sugar, and 5 cups cold water to the pitcher. Stir vigorously until sugar dissolves. Adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar or water as needed.
  5. Add ice cubes to the pitcher or individual glasses. Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint sprigs. Serve chilled.

Notes

Do not over-muddle the mint to avoid bitterness. Use room-temperature sugar for faster dissolving. Taste and adjust sugar and water to balance tartness and sweetness. Prepare strawberry puree and lemon juice separately if making ahead, then combine before serving. Use sparkling water for a fizzy version.
