These jalapeno popper pinwheels combine the creamy, cheesy, spicy kick of jalapeno poppers with the buttery, flaky goodness of puff pastry for an irresistible appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, chopped
  • 2 fresh jalapenos, diced
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 puff pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapenos, chopped bacon, and garlic powder. Mix until evenly distributed.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry. If it’s already flat, skip this step.
  4. Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Starting from one end, tightly roll the puff pastry into a log. Slice the log into 1-inch pieces with a sharp knife.
  6. Place the pinwheels flat-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out slightly.
  7. Lightly brush the tops of the pinwheels with the beaten egg to help them brown beautifully.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pinwheels are golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  9. Let the pinwheels cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a milder flavor, remove the seeds from the jalapenos. Chill the puff pastry if it becomes too soft while rolling. Customize the spice level by adjusting the amount of jalapenos.
