A rich and creamy no-bake dessert that layers silky vanilla custard, chocolate pudding, and crushed chocolate sandwich cookies topped with a glossy chocolate ganache. Perfect for parties and easy to prepare without baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3.4 oz / 96 g) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 ¾ cups (650 ml) cold milk
  • 8 oz (227 g) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 24 chocolate sandwich cookies (like Oreos), crushed
  • 1 package (3.9 oz / 110 g) chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups (475 ml) hot water
  • 1 cup (170 g) chocolate chips or chopped chocolate (optional, for ganache topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and cold milk for about 2 minutes until thickened. Let it sit for 5 minutes to fully set.
  2. Gently fold the thawed whipped topping into the vanilla pudding mixture until smooth and creamy.
  3. Crush the chocolate sandwich cookies into coarse crumbs using a rolling pin or food processor.
  4. Spread half of the crushed cookies evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 inch dish. Press gently to form a base without compacting too hard.
  5. Pour the vanilla pudding mixture over the cookie base, smoothing it with a spatula to about 1 to 1 ½ inches thick.
  6. In another bowl, whisk the chocolate pudding mix with hot water until fully dissolved and thickened (about 2 minutes). Let cool slightly.
  7. Pour the chocolate pudding evenly over the vanilla layer, smoothing the top.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining crushed cookies over the chocolate pudding layer.
  9. Optional: Melt the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals in the microwave, stirring until glossy and smooth. Drizzle or spread over the cookie crumb layer.
  10. Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow layers to set.
  11. Cut into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

Fold whipped topping gently to keep custard light and airy. Ensure chocolate pudding is cooled before layering to prevent melting the vanilla layer. Chill for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results. For cleaner slices, dip knife in hot water and wipe dry between cuts. Optional ganache topping adds a glossy finish.
