  • 4 tilapia fillets (about 6 ounces/170g each), fresh or thawed, skinless and boneless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
  3. Brush both sides of the fillets lightly with olive oil.
  4. In a small bowl, combine lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, and salt. Sprinkle evenly over both sides of each fillet, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. Arrange the fillets on a prepared baking sheet, spacing them about an inch apart.
  6. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned.
  7. Stir in fresh lemon juice and remove from heat.
  8. Bake the tilapia in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the fish flakes easily with a fork and has crispy edges. Add a couple extra minutes if fillets are thicker than 1 inch.
  9. Once out of the oven, brush the garlic butter generously over each fillet. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley if desired.
  10. Serve immediately while still warm and crispy.
