A quick and easy recipe for crispy Brussels sprouts cooked in an air fryer and drizzled with a sweet and tangy balsamic glaze. Perfect as a healthy, flavorful side dish for any occasion.

  • 1 pound (450 grams) Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Optional: pinch of red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Rinse 1 pound (450 g) of Brussels sprouts under cold water, trim the stem ends, and slice each sprout in half lengthwise. Pat them dry with a clean towel to reduce moisture.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Add the halved Brussels sprouts and toss well to coat each piece evenly.
  3. Preheat air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it warm up for about 3 minutes.
  4. Place the Brussels sprouts cut side down in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook for 10 minutes.
  5. After 10 minutes, use tongs or gently shake the basket to turn the sprouts. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the edges are golden and crisp.
  6. While sprouts cook, pour 1/4 cup (60 ml) balsamic vinegar and 1 tablespoon brown sugar into a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir frequently as it simmers and reduces to a syrupy consistency, about 5-7 minutes.
  7. Transfer the crispy Brussels sprouts to a serving dish. Drizzle the balsamic glaze evenly over the top. Sprinkle a pinch of red pepper flakes if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Dry Brussels sprouts thoroughly before air frying to ensure crispiness. Arrange sprouts cut side down and avoid overcrowding the basket. Stir the balsamic glaze frequently and reduce it slowly to avoid burning. Toss sprouts halfway through cooking for even crispness. Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer or oven to maintain crispness.
