This air fryer honey garlic salmon is a quick, easy, and flavorful dinner featuring crispy edges, a sticky-sweet honey garlic glaze, and tender, flaky fish. Perfect for busy weeknights or when you want a healthy, crowd-pleasing meal with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (56 oz each, skin-on or skinless)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (regular or low-sodium, or tamari/coconut aminos for gluten-free)
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh-squeezed preferred)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional garnishes: sesame seeds, chopped green onions or parsley, red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt until the honey is fully dissolved. This is your marinade and glaze.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or zip-top bag. Pour half of the marinade over the salmon, turning to coat. Let sit for 10–15 minutes at room temperature.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 2–3 minutes.
  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Arrange them in the air fryer basket, skin side down if using skin-on fillets. Leave space between fillets for air circulation.
  5. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 7–9 minutes, depending on thickness. Halfway through (after about 4 minutes), open the basket and brush or spoon some of the reserved marinade on top of each fillet. Close and finish cooking.
  6. For extra stickiness, brush the tops with the last bit of glaze and air fry for 1 more minute, watching closely to prevent burning.
  7. Transfer the salmon to a plate and let rest for 2–3 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, or red pepper flakes if desired. Serve hot.

Notes

Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket—cook in batches if needed. Pat salmon dry before marinating and air frying for best crispiness. Only brush the final layer of glaze in the last minute to avoid burning. For gluten-free, use tamari or coconut aminos. Maple syrup can substitute for honey. Salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork and is opaque in the center (125–130°F for medium-rare).
